Suggested trips and tours

Flying a general aviation airplane offers vast opportunities for memorable experiences and a lot of fun. On this page, you will get an idea of typical trips and tours we have done with former passengers, based on their requests and ideas, but also based on suggestions I have offered given my experience with flying in this part of Norway.

Sightseeing

Have you ever seen your house on aerial photos from back in the day, or have you always desired to see ground stuff up closer when approaching the airport on your return from holidays? A general aviation airplane trip offers many opportunities to see places and landmarks from a completely different perspective, a lot closer than what you would normally see when flying commercially. And you can even choose yourself what to go have a look at - it is a lot of fun!

  • A local trip over Oslo gives you so many impressive views you would not get when sightseeing at foot or on wheels.
  • The Oslofjord draped in sunset is such a beautiful sight!
  • A longer trip to see Gaustatoppen or to go down the southern coast offers an incredible view of mountains and coastlines.

Experiences

Maybe you would love to give your grandpa a tour of historical sites from World War 2, seen from the air for a slightly different perspective. Or maybe you have a teenager who dream of becoming a pilot some day. A great birthday present may be to give the kid an airport-to-airport tour with touch and go training, some navigation training and all that comes with flying an airplane as a pilot. Or maybe you would want to do something fun for a hen-do/stag-do activity to kick off the day. The sky is the limit (pun intended) on what tours and activities a general aviation airplane tour can offer.

  • Fly veteranfly og bli med på besøk til Maarud potetgullfabrikk og gresstripen de har der, og opplev bushflyging.
  • Go visit different airports and experience landings like airline pilots do, getting the feel for what it is like being a pilot.
  • Send off your bride/groom on a general aviation airplane trip to Jarlsberg, where the herself and the bridesmaid/man of honour can go skydiving through the local skydiving club before flying back again to Oslo or going for dinner and drinks in Tønsberg.

Travel and transportation

Sometimes it can be nice to avoid rush hour traffic in or out of Oslo, or avoiding a longer drive, when going back and forth from a mountain cabin trip or an overnight stay in a different town/city in Norway. Making the journey in a private airplane is a superb alternative to hours in a car stuck in traffic - it is great fun too!

  • A day-trip to Stavanger, Bergen or Trondheim or Sweden makes a great getaway.
  • If you wanna go up in the mountains, Geilo, Fagernes and Gol is a short flight away from Oslo.
  • You'll quickly get to Tønsberg, Kragerø or Oppdal when not having to face rush hour traffic on the E18 or E6 motorways.
